Founder and Managing Director, Kathy Lynskey, is one of the few Marlborough wine producers to have actually grown up in the province. Brought up on a local, Marlborough sheep farm, her initial interest in horticulture later expanded to include wine.

At the age of 33, she purchased a newly planted vineyard and developed this land into production, carrying out much of the work herself. The grapes were grown under contract to a local winery for seven years until the vineyard was sold in 1997 to make way for the purchase of the company's present estate vineyard.

Kathy's knowledge of viticulture, complete with her background in business and marketing, has driven the company's development. Today she shares the running of the business with her Californian-born partner and shareholder, Kent Casto. Kent brings to his role as Marketing Manager 20 years experience in the USA restaurant industry. His knowledge of consumer preferences and quality wines complements Kathy's extensive viticultural experience.
