Founder and Managing Director, Kathy Lynskey grew up in Marlborough on a sheep farm.   She is one of the few Marlborough wine producers to have actually grown up in the province. 

An interest in horticulture and wine inspired her to purchase a newly planted 20 acre vineyard in 1989.  She developed this land into production, carrying out much of the work herself.  In 1997 she purchased the company’s current vineyard site with the intention of producing her own wine label.

Kathy’s knowledge of viticulture, complete with her background in business and marketing, has driven the company’s development.  Today she shares the running of the company with her Californian-born partner Kent Casto. Kent’s 20 years experience in the USA restaurant industry complements Kathy’s viticultural expertise.  Together they share a passion for making full flavoured, well balanced and cellarable wines.
